Huang Yan, vice principle of SCNU FLS Head school and headmaster of I-EP & IHP 

Dear colleagues, parents and students,

Hello, everyone

I am Huang Yan, the new vice principle of SCNU FLS headquarters and headmaster of I-EP. It is my great pleasure to join such a warm family of SCNU FLS, and I will be with you in the days to come, welcome the future together.

In my 27-year of educational career, I have worked in 12 grades length wise from primary school to middle school and high school, from foreign language specialized schools to international schools, and have brought and innovated Chinese and international curriculums cross wise. With such education experiences, I have possessed an international vision, solid foundation and professional self-confidence, and have learned how to go into the hearts of children of different ages and become good friends with them. I worked in Guangdong University of Foreign Studies Foreign Language School, participated in the establishment and development of a famous school in Dongguan, and served as the principal of a famous international middle school in Guangzhou. With the joint efforts of the team, we have set new records of excellence: 95.5% of the graduates received admission notices from top 100 QS world-renowned schools, and 56.7% of the graduates have received the admission notices from top 30 QS world-renowned schools, helping many students realize their dreams of further studying abroad and studying in world-renowned schools. With years of deposit and experiences, I am very honored to join in SCNU FLS. Behind the honor and responsibility, it is my belief in building quality education and my determination to live up to the expectations of teachers, students and parents.

The nature of education is love, which encourages children to grow inward with sincere and intelligent love. I will make concerted efforts with my team to enhance the school-running characteristics of Embrace China, Embrace the World: Build I-EP (Grade 1-9) into the best IB Program, deeply integrate the national curriculum under the framework of IB, implement the holistic education of IB, and lay a solid academic foundation for children's development; Build IHP (grade 9-12) into a premier international high school, providing quality international high school programs and Advanced Placement (AP) program for students who wish to study abroad, and leading them to embark on their dream journey to renowned schools.

My experiences on education have taught me that, as an educator, I should constantly innovate the ways of curriculum construction, classroom learning and community cooperation to truly meet the learning and growth needs of different children. For I-EP, "Innovation" and "integration" are not only a slogan, it is more our philosophy and action. In the future, the curriculums, activities and education system of I-EP will provide children with more choices, more vivid experiences and wider possibilities, to help them inspire their potential, do their best, and become the best of themselves. We will keep our mission in mind, build SCNU FLS into a warm, friendly and desirable school, cultivate outstanding students with foreign and Chinese culture, and let every child enjoy a pure childhood here, go through the happy teenage, rush towards the high-spirited youth, and embrace a bright and happy life.

One of my teachers said to me: "Education is a long wait -- keeps a light for children, even in the dead of night". My office is on the first floor, if you want to talk, need support or strength, or just want a warm cup of tea, a hug, a pat on the back, you are welcome to come to me. I will never forget to keep this door open and this light on for you -- until the dead of night.
